Comprehensive Family Dental Care

We enjoy seeing patients of all ages in our office. Over his 40 years of practice, Dr. Patterson has had the privilege of serving the dental health needs of generations of families in Dalton, Chattanooga and surrounding North Georgia and bordering Tennessee communities.

Regular Preventive Visits
The most important part of dental treatment is prevention of disease before it begins. We recommend that our patients visit our office every
3–6 months for routine checkups, cleanings and periodontal maintenance.

At this visit, we will take any necessary digital xrays, and Dr. Patterson will perform a thorough dental examination to evaluate the condition of your teeth and jaw joints. We may recommend fluoride treatments or dental sealants for your child to help prevent tooth decay. Read more about "Why do I need dental xrays?"

Dr. Patterson and our hygienists will also examine and measure your gums to look for signs of periodontal (gum) disease as part of your preventive care routine. If left untreated, periodontal disease can lead to tooth loss and infection. Read more about periodontal health.

Dental Sealants
A dental sealant is a plastic coating that is painted onto the chewing surface of a tooth to seal deep grooves that can sometimes be an entry point for decay-causing bacteria. Sealants create a smooth surface that is easier to keep clean and can last for years.
